雙雜交玉米台南16號之育成

摘  要

台南16號系譜為(Ame Ⅲ 29-5-3 × UPCA 1-2-1)×(P 10-2-3 × P 10-7-2)。本品種與台南11號對玉米露菌病具相同抗病性,對玉米莖腐病抗病性稍弱。70年至71年在嘉南地區兩年地方試作統計結果平均子實產量為6.5噸/公頃,產量穩定性高,地區適應性強。72年秋作全省主要玉米栽培區試作平均子實產量為5.98噸/公頃。72年秋作雲、嘉、南三縣肥料地方試作結果顯示台南16號對氮肥反應不因其用量增加而增產,反有增加氮肥而輕微減產趨勢,其平均子實公頃產量在三種不同公頃氮肥施用量下,依次為:140kg/ha氮肥之產量為6.8噸,180kg/ha氮肥之產量為6.75噸,220kg/ha氮肥之產量為6.73噸,顯示頗具耐肥性。台南16號百粒重及脫粒率對三種氮肥用量無顯著反應。本品種在春作生育日數為101天,株高及穗高分別為220及130公分。在秋作生育日數為107天,株高及穗高分別為213及137公分,本品種適於台中縣及雲、嘉、南地區推廣栽培。


Breeding for Double Cross Maize Hybrid Tainan No. 16

Summary

Tainan No. 16 is a double cross maize hybrid, its pedigree is (Ame III 29-5-3 × UPCA 1-2-1) × (P 10-2-3 × P10-7-2).  The results from the tests on the resistance of maize hybrids and inbreeds to downy mildew and stalk rot diseases showed that Tainan No. 16 was not significant difference in resistance to downy mildew with Tainan No. 11 (resistant hybrid) but moderate susceptible to stalk rot.  The ANOVA of local yield trial been held in Chia-Nan area for 2 years from 1981 to 1982 revealed that Tainan No. 16 had highest grain yield, 6.5 tons/ha, and was the most stable highest yield and best adaptive to local cultivation environments.

The test held in major maize production areas in the islandwide of Taiwan in 1983 indicated that No. 16 had the highest average yield, 5.98 tons/ha, among the varieties tested.  The ANOVA of local fertilizer test conducted in Yunlin, Chia-Yi and Tainan prefectures indicated that Tainan No. 16 performed higher yielding potential in low amount (140 kg/ha) than in high amount (180 and 220 kg/ha) of nitrogen fertilizer, its yield did not increase as the amount of nitrogen fertilizer applied increased.  It showed more tolerant to low level of nitrogen fertilizer than other varieties tested.  The results also showed Tainan No. 16 did not exhibit significant differences in reactions to 3 levels of nitrogen fertilizer in 100 kernel weight and shelling % and had the highest average yield 6.7 tons/ha in the fertilizer trial.  In spring crop, it needs 101 days to maturity, its plant height and ear height were 220 and 130 cm, respectively.  In fall crop it needs 107 days to maturity, its plant height and ear height were 213 and 137 cm, respectively.  It is a favorable variety for widely cultivation in Taichung, Yunlin, Chia-Yi and Tainan prefectures.
