綠豆新品種台南選三號之育成

摘  要

綠豆台南選三號之原品系為VC1628-A,由亞蔬中心(AVRDC)引進而經過地方試作及全省性區域試驗,於民國70年秋作選出正式命名推廣。

主要農藝特性為:一、植株矮小(54∼68cm),不易倒伏。二、結莢習性集中於植株頂部,開花結莢成熟較整齊,使第一次收穫可達全部莢果之80%以上,能省工收穫。三、籽粒色澤為油綠,千粒重較大(53∼62g)。四、對白粉病比當地種或台南選一號耐病。

至於產量成績方面,在台南地區地方試作結果,每平均公頃產量為2,070kg,比台南選一號增收48%左右,適合春夏作栽培,在全省性區域試驗結果,產量成績也良好,供試品種中可列為上位。


Introduction of A Newly Developed Mungbean Variety, Tainan (S) No. 3

Summary

        Tainan (S) No. 3, a newly developed mungbean variety introduced from AVRDC, has been included regional and local yield trial for two years (1980~1981) in Tainan and other districts.

        Yield of Tainan (S) No. 3 is greater than local variety and Tainan (S) No.1.  The average yield per hectare reached 2070 kg in local test.  It is registered and released in 1981.

        The original line of Tainan (S) No.3 is VC, 1628-A derived from a cross between CESID-21 (V. 3476) and PHL, V-18.  The desirable characters of Tainan (S) No.3 is following:

1. Tainan (S) No.3 has erect plant type, the plant height is 54~68 cm, therefore it is not easy to lodge.

2. Most pods of plant are reached on upper portion of the plants and the maturity of pods is uniform, therefore more than 80% of pods will be harvested at once.  It saves the labor of harvesting.

3. It has larger grain than that of Tainan (S) No.1.  The weight of 1000 grains is 53~62 g.

4. It is more tolerate to powder mildew disease and lodging than Tainan (S) No.1.

For the release of Tainan (S) No.3, we hope that it will be acceptable for the farmers in Chia-nan area where is the major production area of mungbean in Taiwan.  We also try to plant the mungbean in summer (July-August) in paddy field.
