Evaluation of Insect Pests Resistant Lines in Peanut

F. C. Yen, Y. T. Ou, G. Lee

Abstract

Thrip and green leafhopper are major insect pests of peanut.  In 1977 72 lines (varieties) have been evaluated for their resistance to these two major pests.

The lines such as 73(3)-6-026, 74(1)-1-015 and 74(1)-1-022 are moderately resistant to peanut thrip while 74(1)-1-013, 74(1)-1-022 and Tainan No. 10 are moderately resistant to green leafhopper.  Among these line selected, 74(1)-1-022 is not only resistant to both major pests but also showing resistance to rust disease.
