甘藷新品種台南17號之育成

摘  要

台南17號是於民國50年秋作以彰化種×台農17號用人工雜交後代選出之品系N51-32,至高級試驗時,改編為南改育32號,本品種歷經各級品系比較試驗,區域試驗,地方試作及示範等程序,至民國66年登記命名,即開始推廣。本品種之主要農藝特性如下:

1.塊根表皮淡紅,肉色淡黃,塊根長紡錘形,葉綠色心臟形,長蔓匍匐性,生育初期莖葉旺盛,至後期不耐寒易落葉,蔓節不易發根,可減少理蔓作業。

2. 歷經各項試驗,試作及示範結果,每公頃塊根產量平均為30,609公斤比對照品種台農57號等增產10.4%,製簽率31.2%,比對照品種多1.8%,製粉率18.3%比對照品種增加1.4%,是一種製簽飼料用及製粉用之品種。

3. 宜於夏季(6~8月)種植,不宜於裡作栽培,適應砂質壤土,尤其對鹽風抵抗性較強,甚宜於海邊或沿海地帶栽培。


Breeding of Sweet Potatoes — A New Developed Variety Tainan 17

Summary

        Tainan 17 sweet potato resulted from a cross combination Chang-Huah (local variety) × Tainung 17 crossed in the fall season of 1961.  Passed the advanced yield trail, regional yield test and several demonstration plots as the clone Nan-Kai-Yu 32 (N51-32), then registered in 1977.  The major agronomic characteristics of Tainan 17 are as following:

1.Spindle figure in shape, light pink in color of fleshy root, light yellowish in flesh, heart in shape of leaf and green colored A runner vine type and more vigorous plants at the early period of growth but sensitive to cold at late period.

2.Based on the experimental results, average yielded 30,609 kg per hectare in flashy root it yielded 10.4% higher than that of check variety (Tainung 57 or local variety) and has a 31.2% of dry chips of fleshy root and 18.3% of starch flour.  So that Tainan 17 is more useful for the making of dry chips and starch flour.

3.Adapt to sandy loam soil and for the summer cropping, and as it resist to the salt-wind so well planted in the seacoast of Tainan region.
